GET TO KNOW ME
My Story
I have worked to support children, adults and families for over 20 years in a variety of settings. In particular, I have extensive experience in working with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, and Autism. It is my belief that the growth process in therapy is best facilitated by a therapeutic relationship that honors each client's own inherent wisdom.
I provide therapy for children ages 3 and up, adults and families. Over the past several years, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from Dr. Jonathan Baylin, an expert in the field of neuro-biology and attachment. My therapy style is empathic, collaborative, strength based and psychodynamic in orientation.
AVAILABLE SERVICES
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Individual therapy sessions for children and teens can run 45 - 60 minutes. Each child, teen and family is unique and comes to therapy with different strengths, resources, goals and experiences. As such, treatment is individualized but may include a combination of traditional talk therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), coping skills development, and social skills training among other methods.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS
Individual therapy sessions for adults can run from 45 to 60 minutes. After an initial assessment, we work together to create goals and a focus for our work. Adults come to therapy with a lot of life experience and often are aware of the areas where change is most needed. I believe in honoring each person's own pathway to change and growth.
In working with adults, I use a combination of traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Visualization, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and solution focused approaches among others.
PARENTING WORKSHOPS
Together with a team of therapists, I offer workshops that cover a variety of topics related to parenting. These groups generally include information regarding the neurobiology of the parent-child relationship and dive into strategies for creating a strong and loving attachment with your children during their difficult moments. The atmosphere of the group is nonjudgmental and will include real life examples from participants and the therapists. Participants leave each workshop with greater self awareness, a personalized self-care plan for themselves and practical strategies for meeting their child with love during the difficult moments in parenting.
